Bespoke Storage Solutions and Furniture Throughout Holiday Home

22 North Parade, Portscatho, Cornwall

Coast Creative

“The view from the window as you come in is our favourite feature. No day is ever the same. The bench with storage means that we can sit and enjoy the best view in the world. No need for TV.”

With an uninterrupted panorama over the ocean, looking out of the window at 22 North Parade feels like being at sea with your feet firmly on dry land. An apartment that is small in size but huge in style and functionality, we were commissioned to build innovative storage solutions to maximise the space; bespoke bunk beds with custom powder-coated metalwork, a custom TV stand, kitchen cabinets, bespoke master bedroom furniture and a large bench seat containing ample space for households items.

“The upstairs bench space makes the most of the amazing view,” said homeowner Alex, “You can sit and stare at the world going by and the ever-changing seascape. It’s also large enough to have a snooze!”

Living Space

Working with us enables our clients to hand pick every bespoke feature and we enjoyed working alongside Alex and Peter to bring their vision to life. To maximise space in the living area our team of craftsmen built a triangular TV stand with rattan-fronted cupboards and open shelving. The unique shape allowed the TV stand to double as storage and fit into a corner otherwise un-useable due to the doorway.

We also created wooden bench seats, both upstairs and around the dining table, which offered ample storage whilst also being modern and versatile alternatives to chairs.

“Built-in storage has been hugely useful in our small holiday house. The house feels light and airy, and it allows us to hide away the clutter. The storage is also very beautiful and tactile, the wood blends in beautifully, feeling natural and warm. The bench seating is clever – we’ve never before been able to sit so many people round the dining table, and it’s also a great place to socialise, have a drink and chat during meal preps – a huge bonus in a small space.”

Master Bedroom

Our clients chose a modern slatted wall feature instead of a headboard, with warm, noise-canceling textile behind the oak panels. Wall-mounted storage included more rattan-fronted cupboards to suit the Nordic style.

“Thanks to clever storage, we can keep clutter and household items out of sight.”

To make the most of all the natural light available to the property, Alex and Peter opted for a beautiful wall divider that offers both privacy and brightness.

“The room divider meant that we were able to create a double en-suite for the bedroom, plus a snug for watching TV while still getting some natural light. The master bedroom and living area can be separated when needed for privacy.”

Bunk Room

“Visitors love the ‘boho-chic’/ nordic feel to the interior. It is simple, yet warm and welcoming. The bunk beds are a particular favourite.”

To maximise the space in the bunk room our team built in storage wherever possible; under the bottom bunk, open shelving, cupboards and more… The room itself feels like being onboard a ship in the lower deck, where the cabin style bunk beds are finished with orange powder-coated, custom metalwork. The use of bunk beds allows the room to sleep both the children without compromising valuable floor space, and the integrated storage solutions save yet more space.

“The bunk beds have clever storage drawers beneath, meaning the children can sleep there but also tidy away their clothes and toys. There is space for clocks, books and phone charging in the bedside shelves. The bunk beds are very comfortable, cosy and solid and the children are very happy to share. Plus, the kids have mentioned that the bunk beds are like being in a submarine, which is fun!”

All cabinets were finished with more custom metalwork to perfectly match the theme.
